This is my first Mac after your PC for almost 20 years. (My first PC was AT & T 8088 processor). Even though I choked on the price, I was excited for what I believed, Mac had to offer - in particular the integrated operating system that many said they never crash. I can design, style and ease and speed of digital archiving and editing (both still and video). I was pleasantly surprised how easily I was able to convert Quicken files PC, as I read it was a disaster. However, I am very disappointed with the stability of the operating system (10.3.2). I usually freeze the machine, and when I gave the G5 to sleep, you "wake up" all the fans at full speed. I made four calls to customer service and an apple, though pleasant and patient, the problem persists. (even with the hours of support are a joke, if you live on the west coast and has a job).
In summary, it's fun, but the PC vs. cost - and I am convinced that I made the right choice (even if he has a teenage daughter loves the little PowerBook G4). FINAL producct purchase extended support. (AppleCare Protection Plan)
